Route issures Fix
These are the instructions I received from Tom Tom Technician.
We are terrible sorry that you are experiencing this difficulty with your unit please let us help you get it back up and running, we recommend you to perform a soft reset on your unit:
- Please charge the unit for 2 hours before you perform the reset.
- You can reset the unit by removing it from the cradle and using a straightened paper clip in the reset hole on the unit's bottom.
- Please keep the device connected to a power supply while you turn it on.
Please refer to the following link for further information:
http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?Language=4&query=reset&FID=7134
After you performed the soft reset, please connect the TomTom ONE to your computer and install the latest application available through TomTom HOME. At the following link you will find detailed instructions on how to do it:
http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?Language=4&query=application&FID=6218
Please also run the "TomTom Clear Flash tool" on your device, at the following link you will find detailed instructions:
http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?Language=4&query=flash+memory&FID=6221
We also believe that the itinerary routes you have created are recalculated by your GO 910 according to updated traffic information, this is why the route changes when te unit is disconnected from the computer.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, we trust that this troubleshooting will restore your device to normal operation.
Thank you again for contacting us, if you have any further questions or comments, please e-mail or call us at 1-866-486-6866 Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 7 pm EST.
Remember that at TomTom we believe in showing you the way, the easy way.
Best Regards,
TomTom support
I must tell you none of the links would work except the link to the Clear Flash Tool.
I am running a dual boot system, Windows XP pro on (1) hard drive
and Vista Ultimate on the (2) hard drive.
I use Vista Ultimate to work with my Tom Tom Go 910. When I plug the USB into my computer it starts looking for the stuff on the TT. During this process Home software begins flashing down at the bottom of screen on the task bar. When I click it it gives me (2) choices, one, Install the software (which is already installed) two, Cancel. I think that doing the cancel of the install keeps the route intact. If I do the install the route changes after I disconnect from my computer.
Don't known exactly what's happening make some of the Guru's can join in. Could be something wrong with the Home software and Vista Ultimate and maybe a fix is called for to be Vista Compatiable.
The reason for thinking this is every once in a while (not always) a box will come up giving me choices of The software installed correctly or re-install the software useing recommended settings. (This box comes up if I click on install the Home Software).
