I have just bought a tom tom rider 2 , it came as just the unit and no cradle.
Does anyone know where i can buy a cradle for it.

Good luck with that search. I looked high and low all over North America for an additional bike cradle and the only place I could find it was at the TomTom UK site under accessories. https://www.tomtomforums.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

You will also need the cable to power it. Add another 7 pounds for that puppy.

Whatever you do be very careful to wire the cable to the battery correctly. If you reverse polarity it will fry the dock and you will be back at square one.

You don't indicate where you are loctated, but I have done a quick search of my nearest Tomtom Rider supplier which happens to be Australia and have found that all the parts you are looking for are available.
TomTom RIDER 2nd edition NEW - TomTom GPS sat nav
Bits also come up on Ebay quite regularly, so it may be worth watching out there, and probably a less expensive option to buying from Tomtom direct.
