Meanwhile, the Community has explained why, and provided an easy to apply fix!

Everyone - if you're wanting to get your time display functioning before TomTom decide to fix it, or wait until sometime in August when the sat navs 'should' start showing the time again, please follow these simple instructions...

This works fine for my Carminat on a 2010 Renault Megane. Software version 8.843.

Go to the following link, and download the file. I didn't create it, it's not my work!

Extract it so you see all the files in that one folder.

Eject your original SD card from your cars' Tom Tom device.

Place your original SD card in a card reader on your PC / Laptop. Copy the contents to a new folder, naming it something like Copy of Original TomTom SD card files... If you have a spare SD card, copy those files onto it.

Go back to the folder you have which contains the extracted files from the Google Drive Zip file that you have downloaded.

Copy the extracted contents of that downloaded folder directly onto either the SD Card from your TomTom, or into the folder of your new SD Card. Overwrite if asked to.

Place your SD Card in your TomTom device, switch on the device, and wait for the egg timer to go out...
After a few seconds or so, you'll be up and running again!

Come posso risolvere?

Have you tried restoring your map save?

Hello
I got the same message with the France and Iberia maps.
I had made the modification with HxD under Win11 which modified the timestamp of the PNGNavigator. With Beyond Compare I put the same timestamp as the one from loopdir/loopback.ex3 and it fixed the issue.

Hallo zusammen,

Code:
touch -r loopdir/loopback.ex3 PNGNavigator

Code:
# Chemin vers le fichier source
$sourceFile = "loopdir\loopback.ex3"
# Chemin vers le fichier cible
$targetFile = "PNGNavigator"

# Vérification de l'existence des fichiers
if (-not (Test-Path $sourceFile)) {
    Write-Error "Le fichier source $sourceFile n'existe pas."
    exit 1
}
if (-not (Test-Path $targetFile)) {
    Write-Error "Le fichier cible $targetFile n'existe pas."
    exit 1
}

# Récupération des timestamps du fichier source
$sourceTimestamps = Get-Item $sourceFile

# Application des timestamps au fichier cible
$targetItem = Get-Item $targetFile
$targetItem.CreationTime = $sourceTimestamps.CreationTime
$targetItem.LastWriteTime = $sourceTimestamps.LastWriteTime
$targetItem.LastAccessTime = $sourceTimestamps.LastAccessTime

Happy to repeat this in English:
Hello everyone,
I am very pleased to see that, thanks to the instructions provided by Bristolisch (#100), several Renault drivers have managed to restore their clocks.
Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I followed the steps described in #100 exactly. I then inserted the SD card into my navigation system. After the "spinning hourglass" icon disappears, the time does indeed appear. However, a message then pops up saying: "Problem with the map. You cannot use this map on this device: Europe-104036".
I subsequently installed HxD, which allows me to access the "PNDNavigator" file. Unfortunately, however, I don't know exactly what specific changes I need to make to this file.
Does anyone know what needs to be done to get the navigation system working perfectly again (with the correct time displayed)?

Ciao
Potresti gentilmente spiegarmelo? Grazie

That is exactly what I did: I followed the steps described in #100 precisely. Then, I inserted the SD card into my navigation system. After the "spinning hourglass" icon disappeared, the time actually appeared. However, a message then popped up stating: "Problem with the map. You cannot use this map on this device: Europe-104036." — Unfortunately, based on the recent posts, I am unable to figure out what needs to be done to get the navigation system working properly. Can anyone provide me with a clear, easy-to-follow procedure to resolve this?

The "You cannot use this map on this device" error with Europe-104036 on a TomTom indicates a map activation failure, often caused by using the wrong account, a corrupted installation, or an incorrect map version for your device. Fix this by checking your account credentials, re-downloading the map, or using TomTom HOME to update, as suggested by TomTom support. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Steps to Fix the Error
  • Verify Account: Ensure you are logged into TomTom HOME using the exact email address used to purchase the map.
  • Re-download/Reinstall: Use TomTom HOME or MyDrive Connect to remove the current map and download it again to fix potential corruption.
  • Clear Cache & Update: Clear the cache within TomTom HOME, restart the application, and try installing the map again.
  • Check SD Card: If using an SD card, ensure it is unlocked and not corrupted.
  • Perform a Factory Reset: If the map remains unreadable, perform a factory reset on the device, as noted on this YouTube video, or re-insert the SD card while the car is off, as suggested in TomTom support articles. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]

Thank you very much for your feedback.

Your tips have indeed led me to the "finish line" :)

My navigation system is now running perfectly—including the time.

To everyone: If you want to get your navigation device's time display working again before TomTom fixes the problem, or if you're willing to wait until August when the devices should display the time again, please follow these simple instructions…

This works perfectly with my Carminat in a 2010 Renault Megane. Software version 8.843.

Follow the link and download the file. I didn't create it; it's not mine!

TomTom Time Patch to OEM SD card v8843.3130258.zip

drive.google.com
drive.google.com
Unzip the folder so you can see all the files inside.

Eject your original SD card from your car's TomTom device.

Insert your original SD card into a card reader on your PC/laptop. Copy the contents to a new folder and name it something like "Copy of original TomTom SD card files...". If you have a spare SD card, copy the files to it.

Go back to the folder containing the files extracted from the downloaded Google Drive ZIP file.

Copy the extracted contents of the downloaded folder either directly to your TomTom device's SD card or to the folder on your new SD card. Overwrite any existing files if prompted.

Insert your SD card into your TomTom device, turn it on, and wait for the timer to finish...
After a few seconds, everything will be ready to use again!
Thank you so much for your help and the download link 😀😀😀. I have a 2010 Megane 3 GT Coupe and my time was back immediately after the system restarted!👍👍👍

Good morning, following your advice I reset the time on my browser, but now it keeps resetting. I don't know if there's a solution or if I can change something to prevent it. Laguna 3, TomTom 2009.
Thank you for your work.
