Qustions about transferring ownership + account name

I don't know for sure where to go to post these questions but will try here first. "Can I sell my old TomTom to a friend and pass on the lifetime map feature?" "How can I purchase a new TomTom and retain my current email address upon registration?"

Q1. Yes, just change your account name (and password) to something that your friend can use before you sell it. Either use a dummy email address (anything in the form '[email protected]' will work), or ask him what email address he would like to use.

You change your account name and password on the TT website.

2. NOT a good idea. Although it should be technically possible, it has caused all sorts of problems for many people in the past.

As above, there is no real need to use a real email address, unless you want to get emails from TomTom.
But don't most ISPs give you multiple email addresses these days? (from which you can get post redirected to your main address).
