I'm going to South Dakota and I'm having trouble putting in things like "Mount Rushmore" and "Crazy Horse" in my TomTom One XL..
I have tried and it just won't do it, can anyone tell me what to do to put then in TomTom ?

Sometimes it takes a bit of doing to get the necessary "address" into a TomTom. For Crazy Horse Monument, Google research shows the address as: 202 Ave. of the Chiefs, Crazy Horse, SD. Click on "Navigate To" "Address" "Street and house number" then enter "Crazy Horse, SD as the city, etc. It will find it!
You could Google Mt Rushmore for that address and similarily enter it manually as your destination.
I've used my One XL for both these destinations - works well!
