I just noticed a secondary road with sideroad flow in Boston for the first time. PLUS may have been upgraded to the expanded Inrix coverage. There will be tons of traffic in a few hours with Ted Kennedy's procession memorial, so I'll see if more sideroads light up

I've gotten really weird traffic today too.

I got sidestreet flow for the first time (except for a fluke 2 months ago), and most major highways showed nothing all rush hour.

PLUS is definitely broken.

Seattle Traffic not working.....

The traffic seems to have gone strange on my 730 and Seattle - It's 6pm and it's telling me there is no delays anywhere!!

A couple of weird things.

1) Services shows 3 traffic subscriptions!!!

2) even though nav seems to have the right date, weather updates are for a day or two previously!!!

Started happening in the last day or two.

Also getting more and more reboots.

Tried defaulting and setting up again but that does not seem to help.

It's App 8.351 OS 315187 and map 835.2419

Yes. You're the third person to report the issue.

I had 1 sideroad flow alert for the first time today, so I was thinking they upgraded traffic somehow. But as rush hour dragged on, I saw only incidents, no flow alerts. So now I think the sideroad flow was a bug. There was tons of traffic in Boston with the Ted Kennedy procession but nothing on the Tomtom.

There's definitely something broken right now with plus.

You don't happen to use T-mobile, do you?

Sounds like a bug, this report lasted 30 minutes, and was the only flow report I saw all day.

PLUS traffic only reported incidents, no flow alerts, anywhere in Boston - all rush hour. Two others are reporting PLUS traffic problems too.

No AT&T but that's not the issue.

It's getting data but the weather date is hosed (wrong day) and when I check at 6:30pm and selected Seattle to Portland it said no traffic just 3 closed lane incidents.

But it seems to be in the last couple of days but when I think about it - it was when Home 2.7 installed itself and did a map upgrade to the 730.

I posted a ticket on TT.com - see what comes back

See a possible solution provided by Mikealder here

That's the first thing I checked. Did a binary compare and everything (except POI) on the downloaded zip file matches my Tomtom.

I think something's screwy with PLUS today. Hopefully that means another traffic coverage upgrade is coming.

Thanks - I will try that this weekend - way from the machine that has the map files downloaded on it right now so I have no way of getting those two files right now.

Just gotta love how fragile these devices are!!! NOT

Might be right - the last upgrade to traffic about 6mths ago had traffic delays counting not just the total but then had the cumulative times to show hours of delay

PLUS traffic continues to be broken

PLUS traffic had issues all yesterday, with only incidents and occasional secondary road flow showing. Seems like all highway flow alerts are broken and not showing up.

This has been experienced by multiple members. For those impacted, can we all try calling up Tomtom to get this fix on their radar?

If they're doing an upgrade it would certainly be good if they would post that information on their website. How hard would it be to show the current traffic system status? At least users would have some idea if the service is down, etc. Hard to tell if lack of Plus traffic is by design or accident.

I wish there were some way to sniff the BT traffic and get the PLUS server IP addresses. :)

I remember someone succeeded trying that a while ago. How would that help you? I do remember that the server needed your user/password in the url request to get traffic, the free services (eg weather) could be pulled without it.

If you really think it'll help in any way I'll try googling around to find the earlier post.

This issue isn't a connectivity one. We all get the green connected light. Something's up with the information that the server is providing us.

I merged all the threads talking about issues with PLUS traffic, so all of us can be aware of other's experiences.

If you could sniff the BT, you'd be able to get the authentication information and reverse engineer the protocols. Unfortunately, that would probably be considered unauthorized use and be subject to a federal rap.

I've done it many times on wired/wireless networks to detect suspicious activity, but never BT.

Also, just checked the TT vs the Online Router Planner. Once again, the TT has an incident but no delay info. The route planner has all the info. Does it use the same information that is available to PLUS?

I tried planning a route that would take me on through the accident. It shows a 1 minute delay. Route planner shows a 5 minute delay.

I posted something similar today in another forum thread. Even the 740's do not show all the traffic incidents that the TT route planner does. I really have no idea how TomTom determines what traffic info is sent via their traffic services, but it does not match what is shown on routes.tomtom.com
