Phone Connected

My Tom Tom Go 51 is paired and connected to my Moto g7 play, my service provider allows tethering. On start up it shows that my phone has connected, when I scroll through my "Menu" the phone symbol is not there, nor can I active phone by voice command, it will not receive incoming calls. I called Tom Tom customer service they said "The phone symbol would not be reflected on the device as you have shared the images. At the start when connected the device to the smartphone, it will be connected" which I do not understand. Can anyone help me round this problem.
