Can anyone help me here??/ When I try to pair my 910 with my verizon LG VX 8100 it ask for a passkey... i enter in 0000 like my verizon book says but it doesnt work.:(

I may have the answer for you

On my 8300, I had to go to "Settings and tools", Bluetooth, Settings (on my phone it's in the lower right side of the screen), and click on "Discovery Mode". It gave me one minute to go to the 910 and use the "Search for phone" feature to find the 8300. Once it found the 8300, the 8300 asked for the passkey and I input 0000. It worked fine.

Unfortunately, the 910 doesn't support the "plus" features, nor does it support using my contacts located in the 8300. Very limited utility, IMO.

It's already been said ... TT should really consider actively pursuing more Bluetooth phone compatibility.

have you updated your phone through the website or by taking it to the VZ shop? I have a xv6700 (also not supported) after about 2 hours of playing with the settings now it works like a charm on my 910. I love it. Even the TT tech support said it could not be done. Don't take no for an answer if it has software it is ment to be tweaked!!!

Teek, what did you do? I have an LG VX8300 and I haven't been able to get it to work. I followed the instructions and tried the 0000 password and nothing happened.

Nyer,

I am not sure about the LG VX8300 but, I did the *228 and updated the phone first.
Then all I did was pair the phone with the 910 and BAM! It worked fine. I had to do reg hacks for the bluetooth DUN to the laptop but otherwise due to the configurabuility of the xv6700 PDA phone I was able to unlock hidden / restricked features and use it for what it was built to do. I have had other PDA phones but this one is like the swiss army knife of phones. It has a lot of available tweaks.
I hope you have already connected your phone. Let me know if you still need the help and I will look into it further. Due to my extencive travel schedule I may not reply back for a week but I’ll do my best.

Teek

I have a freaking Verizon Wireless Gzone Type-S and I cannot get the dang bluetooth to connect to my TT1. I did *228 to update the phone, I set it on discovery mode, and every time I try to type in 0000 to pair it craps out like the first post person said.

Sad sad sad....any ideas?

If that doesn't help, then list the steps you've taken one by one up to the point you get stuck and maybe we can help.

I've got the LG 8100 and it works for handsfree calling on my 910. I haven't tried setting up traffic etc.

I would like to get my contacts in there but it says that feature isn't supported. Does anyone know what the format is for the contacts? I can get them downloaded to my computer so I can put them on the TT, I just need to know the format.

Thanks.

Try this out:
You gotta create a a txt file in the root of your TT called contacts.txt. To do so, double click my computer, then the TomTom folder, then right click to create a text folder.

Use the format below in the txt file (copy and Paste):

"name1","0011234567890"

"name2","0011234567890"

"name3","0011234567890"

"name4","0011234567890"

"name5","0011234567890"

"name6","0011234567890"

*Now you can fill in your names and phone numbers: rename name1 etc. to ex. Peter, Joe, etc.

You can use spaces in the Names

ex. "Peter Collins","0011234567890")

*Do the same for the numbers. You can make the list as long as needed, just copy the last line below the end. (make sure the brackets and commas are not removed or displaced)

* Save the file

* Shut down the TT

* Remove the USB cable

* Restart your GO

* If it works you should be able to see your Phone Book

That works great! I had to put the contacts.txt file in my contacts directory for the 910. Otherwise the format and everything else works great. Thank you!
