One XL vs 710

Hi guys,

I gave my GO710 to my parents and want to get a new one.. Well, I got a Magellan Maestro 4040, but I'm returning it after a few days. Yea, it's that bad.

I'm thinking of getting TomTom One XL. Question is, will my Noth America Maps DVD for GO710 work on One XL? I want all those POI..

Also, I'm under impression that these two GPSs are exactly the same except for form & One XL has bigger screen. Don't care about iPod control.. I noticed that battery power is only rated for 2Hrs on One XL.

Did they cut corners on anything else from 510GO series -> One XL?

The x10 have a stronger CPU, more Ram than the One serie.
No the map won't work because it's tied to the unique Device code given to each GPS, but you can copy the POI.dat file over.
The 510 & 710 are identical, hardware wise.

Technically, the maps will work on the ONE XL but the catch is you need an activation code. The only way to get the activation code is through TT which means you might have to buy the map.
