im am looking for a new device to replace my old unit. I have looked at the Go 6000 and 6100.
The lifetime traffic is appealing as my current device is an annual subscription. I assume both these have the built in sim and don't require the traffic via your phone!

My new car has a built in satnav but it is that basic and unreliable I don't even bother with it.

So I will only be be using it in the UK so will the 6000 be my better option.

Thanks.

You are correct, both 6000 and 6100 have built-in SIM and cell modem to manage their own communications. As far as we can tell (the 6100 was JUST released), the only difference between them is that the 6100 comes loaded with a lot more than just your own continent's map (e.g., includes North America, etc.) So there would be no reason to opt for the 6100 for UK-only use. You'll already get a lot more of Europe than that!

The difference between the 600 and 6000 is how the device connects and the price. For an extra 100 pounds or so, the 6000 manages its own connection. The 600 borrows a modest amount of data from your existing smart phone (Android or iOS) data plan to get updated traffic and camera information.

Ok and thanks, I think I will get the 6000. Anyone know the cheapest place in the UK to get one from please. £229 is the cheapest I have seen so far.

**** EDIT *** Amazon have them for £199.99
