I just got a new 930 for my wife 3 days ago (I have one for about a year) and I used the latest map upload (US 845). Our street in the Bronx NY is not on there. It's on my 930 with US 840. She's upset.

Under the category of 'nothing ventured .... nothing gained',

First, you can use Mapshare to report a missing street and hope it gets into a future map BUT ALSO call support at 866-486-6866 to complain about the issue AND (firmly) request that they make map 850 available to you for free when it comes out in April.

And, just to be sure, you DO mean the North_America map for your unit, not the USA_Canada? That would be the wrong map.

ALWAYS good to make a full Windows backup when getting a new unit, ESPECIALLY before allowing Home to do any updating. Had you done that, we could have backed you up to whatever map was installed on the unit as it was received. TomTom seems unwilling to send anyone a down-rev map, even to fix a problem created by an update.

Thanks Guys. Unfortunately I didn't make that initial backup. I called and complained as DHN had suggested. And demanded the next map update. But they were adamant that they couldn?t do that. That I should just do a map error fix.

As client, we never totally depend on what Tomtom provides, therefore, backup your "screw-up" v845 map now, who knows what would happen in their new coming v850 map.
