Hi, I have Renault Laguna 3 pre face-lift and the TomTom LIVE stopped working (never ending restarting loop). Based on loopback.ex3 file the version is this:
  • DeviceName = TomTom Carminat LIVE
  • Hardware = beaumont
  • Navcore = 9.884.1609031.550
I was able to save the maps and maybe even the licence from the original SD card.

How can I get the navigation app for this version as I was not able to save the application from the corrupted SD card. AI found only version Navcore 8.843 but that doesn't match with the map files.

Any help would be appreciated.

The Carminat LIVE (hardware "beaumont") is an OEM TomTom unit built into Renault vehicles, and its NavCore/application software is not the same as the standalone TomTom GO range. The firmware is tightly paired to the hardware and the map set, which is why Navcore 8.843 will not work correctly with maps built for 9.884.

Here is what is worth trying:

1. Recreate the SD card from scratch
The Carminat LIVE boots from a specific SD card structure. If you still have the map files and the licence files (typically a .lic or equivalent activation file tied to your VIN/device ID), the missing piece is the NavCore application itself. NavCore 9.884 for the beaumont platform is not publicly distributed by TomTom, but some Renault/TomTom enthusiast communities (notably the French Renault forums and some dedicated Carminat threads) have archived the correct application folder. Search specifically for "Carminat LIVE beaumont navcore 9.884" - you are more likely to find it there than on general TomTom channels.

2. Check what you actually saved
Look at the root of your SD card backup. The key folders are typically: map (or a named map folder), navcore or app, and a sys or system folder. The loopback.ex3 file you found is part of the application layer. If your backup includes an .appl folder or similar, you may already have the NavCore and just need to reassemble the structure correctly.

3. Licence/activation
The licence on Carminat units is usually tied to the device hardware (VIN-linked), not just the SD card. If the hardware itself is intact and only the card is corrupted, your activation should still be valid once you get a working card back in. If TomTom's activation servers are still responding for this unit is another question - LIVE services are long discontinued, but basic navigation activation is separate from that.

To give more precise guidance, it would help to know exactly which files and folders you were able to recover from the original card.
