Go720 wont charge from in car?

Thanks for reply but ..
As stated above - have used other cars & other chargers etc still with same problem. My Blackberry works fine in the same power supply in the car.

Makes no sense to me. (but we came to a dead end earlier in the topic too )

Volts is volts and current is current.... If the Cigarette lighter adapter is providing the right volts and at least as much current as the PC's USB outlet then the TomTom should not be able to tell any difference.

Deliberate shorts and different resistances on the two data lines in the USB cable can have some subtle effects on how the unit reacts (thinking it is connected to a PC) but the two power lines are pretty basic stuff.

I'm stumped.
