Go720 FM Trnasmitter / iPod

The FM Transmitter works fine when I am listening to instructions from the TT, but when I hook up my iPod through an Auxiliary Cable (not the $30 one you need to buy) the sound is extremely soft. To hear anything you need to crank up the car volume all the way, which is still soft, and the really static.

If I buy the recommended cable, will this solve my problems?
