GO 2435 M Won't respond to touch

I just bought a TOMTOM GO 2435 M from the thrift store I work at for $10 with the cables, manuals, and even box! It powers up and gets to the Legal Notice screen, but when I try to press the I agree button, nothing happens. I'm assuming this means the digitizer is dead? If not, I'd love to find a way how to get this working sooner than later.

Yes, that's certainly possible. It's been a while, but there used to be a lot of the screens/digitizers available on eBay back in the day. Looks like there still are:
