Computer voice on XL350 ?

I have tried installing Dave and Susan on XL. They show up under Home as voice files but do not show up under Voices nor do they work. I installed Mandy and it only sees that even after I deleted it. I am very tight on memory since the last map update. I have tried resetting, etc with no success.
