Computer file size

The TomTom folder on my computer is around 8.5 G in size.
Plus a backup which is almost the same size.
Is this size normal?.

If the folder is supposed to be the backup of what is on your unit, then no it is not correct. Much too large.

Would help if you took a screenshot of the folder contents and posted here.

I rar and move the old back up on 2 dvd
I delete almost everything and kept only
c:\Documents and Settings\Mes documents\TomTom\HOME\Downloads\

File is still 4G but acceptable

Well, it seems you are backing up both Navcore 7.480 and 7.481. I would have deleted the 7.480 stuff since that firmware was flakey as heck! You'd never want to return to that one (7.221, maybe ..).
