Can TOMTOM publish MAP Update detailed instructions

Hi TomTom,

Can you provide an error-free map update instructions?
As you already know numerous consumers have the issue when updating the map. Most of them have insufficient memory issue, others have blank screen. Please provide an definitive answer for how to resolve the issue. Otherwise, people will call you and it ends up you will spend more time then needed.

You can list the issues based on the models and the solutions you suggest.

Please, do something to the users!!!

Um, this is NOT TomTom the company. We are NOT affiliated with TomTom the company in any way.

That said, ALWAYS make a complete Explorer, not Home, backup of your unit's contents prior to a map update (for a Mac, use Finder).

You should do the downloads via a directly connected computer, not one with a weireless connection to the router.

Do not let your computer go into Suspend mode during the download and transfer (which can take hours, depending upon connection type, model and map size).
