Audio output MOD?

I am modding a 700 dock to have the audio out put to an external source.....motorcyle audio system......
I have it working with the mic and sound but the sound in to low.
I only soldered the output from the pin for the left channel.......would it raise the volume if I used both pins at the same time?
Would it do any damage to the TT?

Do NOT try connecting both output pins together. This is known as "bridging" two channels, and unless the device is designed to allow bridging the channels, it will surely result in damage to the device, and quite possibly your sound system.

My suggestion is to use a signal amplifier of some sort... RadioShack sells a battery powered line amplifier with 3.5mm input and output.
