TomTom GO
Feels like the TomTom GO app (on iOS at least) has been shown very little love over recent years, with very little in the way of any feature updates. I gave the Sygic app a test run recently which, whilst not the most polished of maps or interfaces, did give an indication of what other features TomTom GO could have if they used a bit of imagination.

Ultimately I couldn't get on with the kludgy looking maps making it difficult to follow, so I reverted back to TomTom GO, but it did give a glimpse of 'what if'?

Anyone know of a product roadmap from TomTom for the GO app?

I'm not too bothered about new features as the TomTom GO app on iOS does all I want. It would however be great if they could fix the bugs like computer voice Serena mangling street & place names. This irritating bug has been present for years with no roadmap for a fix.

Version 3.9 for ios was released this week but seems to be just 'bug fixes'. Hasn't fixed Serena though! Not only does she mispronounce anything with an 'R' but she also can't say 'Icknield', which sounds something like 'Aykfield'. There are many 'Icknield Ways' in this area (Herts/Bucks) named after an ancient trackway.

In Dutch also had problems with computer voice Xander for at least two years. Tomtom says known problem we hope to solve it in an upcoming update, but already at least 15 updates later and nothing is happening.

I use the Google voices on my phone, you need to activate that option in the labs section, I gave up on Serena ages ago because as you say it was useless

Anyone here moved over to the Amigo app or another alternative? Feels like Amigo has been getting all the love this past year and features that could be in go arnt. Little things like auto launch, which ok can get a bit annoying I guess if you don't need sat nav, plus the maps are nicer and lots of the side roads or some private roads like a super market are on it, where as go tells me I can't drive to my asda petrol station, I have to sort of stop on the main road lol

I've heard a few unhappy mutterings about AmiGO too... apparently some regions have switched from TomTom's own maps to OpenStreetMap, which has triggered lots of complaints of bizarre routing.

Well, I don't exactly find tomtoms maps the best, always finding issues with them and they are very slow to update, the amigo maps are better, although I don't think they are as clear, I'm liking some of the features of amigo, if they did offline maps too like Google maps for example it would be great. I do like tomtomgo and I miss it's side bar in amigo, I'm just not sure I'm going to renew it this year, had it for years too

Last update I had was in November, nothing since then, I wonder if they have given up on it?

I'm pretty sure I had an update to TomTom last week. The app is now on version 3.9.5 The maps are usually updated on a weekly basis although I haven't seen any prompts to download map updates for a few weeks.

Hmm, I'm on 3.6.244 beta, thats what the Google store tells me is the latest version of on. it says no, I've not had any map updates for weeks, I certainly don't get weekly map updates on it, I don't think I've ever had weekly updates, they always seem hit and miss.
