Hi everyone,
Have installed Amigo app on Android phone. Configured all required settings. When driving on a planned route, it does not provide spoken instructions. The only spoken Info given is when approaching a Speed camera, where it asks if the camera is still there.
I have Google TTS engine working correctly. I have selected the Female voice in the Amigo settings, with Sound ON. Also, have tried changing between playing on Device only and via HFP to other Bluetooth devices, but there is never any spoken instructions on the planned route, regardless of which option I choose.
I have other navigation apps on the phone, and without exception, they all work perfectly, providing spoken instructions for the next turn etc.
In desperation, to prove the issue on/off the phone, I installed the app on another Android phone, but the issue is also the same on that.
I am referring to the phone only, and Not Android Auto, as my vehicle does not have AA capability.
I have checked all settings numerous times, and I cannot see why spoken instructions are not being provided.
Is anyone able to advise what the issue is that is causing this error?

Grateful for any help

Hi
In the Amigo options, is voice activated?

Instead of selecting a voice from Google select a voice from Tomtom to try.

Hi,
As per your picture here, this is the setting I already have on Amigo, on my phone. I did mention this on my original post. I am fully aware if Amigo is set to Alerts, it would only provide alerts, without spoken route instructions. Clearly, the Off setting would basically be silent.
As I have the correct sound setting already configured, I am at a loss as to why spoken instructions are not provided. The Amigo voice setting is set to the default Female voice, with a Blue coloured ring circle indicating this is the chosen voice. This is English (GB) Female. When pressing this option, it plays " Hi, I'm Amigo, let's go for a drive"
As mentioned previously, I cannot find any setting that is in the app that is not set correctly. Surely with English (GB) female selected, there is no requirement to download any other voice, unless I wanted to use a different voice?
I have checked everything on the phone and in Amigo, but it will not play spoken route instructions.
It is very frustrating, as the app does appear to be good other than that problem
Many thanks

Two weeks ago my friend asked me a similar question. I tried and it also didn't work for me. I use TomTom GO and Google Maps, so I forgot this issue, but it is there for sure.

Hi,
I appreciate your comment, but it doesn't help me with the issue.
I have already looked on TomTom support for Amigo, and it doesn't tell me anything I don't already know.
In phone Settings, Apps, Amigo: I have deleted all Cache and Accounts, then uninstalled the app. Shutdown the phone. Powered phone on, download & reinstalled Amigo. Set all Amigo settings correctly, including selecting Female GB voice, which I can see is download, but it still does Not provide spoken instructions. It only " speaks" warnings.
TomTom website does not provide any good information

These are the settings I have configured on Amigo.
Can anyone advise why spoken route instructions are Not being provided?
As mentioned previously, the only spoken information provided is when approaching a Speed camera, and the app asks if the camera is still there, enabling the user to reply with Yes or No.
This is much safer than actually touching the phone screen to press Yes or No, as that can be illegal in some countries.

Many thanks
