Amigo problems

I've recently gone back to Amigo as I prefer it to Waze. The traffic has improved significantly, and it would ideally be my everyday choice for a satnav.

However, I have a couple of issues. If I deviate from the route, the app does not recalculate. The map continues to track my new route, but the directions stay stuck to the original route and basically just sit there. I no longer get voice directions.

Also, and this is just an annoyance really. Often, when stationary, the map starts spinning around as though it can't determine the direction. Which is not surprising as the car isn't actually moving.

These issues were on my previous phone, which was a Galaxy S23. I've just upgraded to an S24 and the issues still remain.

Maybe your phone doesn't connect well to the internet?

Have you tried uninstalling the app then reinstalling it?

The phone is 5G and I live in London. I have updated the app and cleared the cache and data. I didn't uninstall though. I'll try that.

This could be related to an issue of the app taking long to re-calculate a route after deviating. We have a ticket created for this.
(DDAPP-17209)

Same problem on Google Pixel 5. I've tried multiple trips with Amigo but as soon as you deviate off the route, the app doesn't recalculate. If I rejoin the route later on then Amigo catches up.

On some my trips the blue route is visible on the edge of my screen so it looks like once it set, it just wants you to go that way which means you don't get any factual notifications such as speed limits, cameras etc if you don't follow the planned route exactly.

The only solution seems to be cancel the route and replan from current location.

Hoping there's a fix. Happy to provide any diagnostic info etc.

Contact Tomtom customer service to report the bug. The more you report it, there may be a chance that Tomtom will correct it quickly.

Same for me :(( after update app not recalculate route if i deviate off

I think this is not specifically related to AmiGO only, but in my area many road speed limits are simply wrong - e.g. where the maximum speed is limited to 80 kph, AmiGO shows a limit of 100 kph, and in another place where I could drive at 80, AmiGO only shows a speed limit of 60 kph. These are just some examples of many. I have reported this multiple times in the app (on Android Autop), but nothing has changed in over a year. This is so annoying and might make me discontinue using AmiGO. Is there any effective way of communicating these errors or even changing this myself, as I can do for example in OSM?

Report speed limit errors via Mapshare. https://www.tomtom.com/mapshare/tools/new/mapshare/#loc=0.00000,0.00000,2

Tomtom confirmed the failing to re-route when leaving a planned route as a bug affecting a "small number of phones* in my ticket 2888528.

So I foolishly updated the app to 9.445 and now all the old problems have returned. Anyone know if and how I can roll back to the previous version?

No, it is not possible to roll back the current bug I think Tomtom will fix them.
