Alternate External Antennas

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use a third-party external antenna for my new TT910? I am mounting the unit low and close to the dash, and reception is not great there. The external antenna that came with the unit works fine, but I am looking for a permanent mount antenna (with the same connector, obviously).

There are third party antenna available and I have seen some on the public auction sites. The problem most people experience is with the connectors. Those available for satellite radio do not fit as they are the opposite configuration. Good luck.
