Does my unit have the capability to tell the speed limit of a street and warn you if you go over the limit? I can set a limit but its the same for all streets--not good when its set for 45 and I turn into a 25 mph street. Thanks, Walt

Welcome to TTF.

The mapping data has imbedded speeds but normally for highways and major roadways only, not for normal streets.

That said, using mapshare corrections, you CAN add a speed limit for a specific street. And you do have a setting for Warn when driving faster than allowed

Thanks, How do I use mapshare I just got this thing and have connected it to the computer but have not downloaded anything yet.

Make an Explorer, not Home, backup before doing anything. If not sure how, see here:

Then, on the unit, you'll see an icon for Mapshare Corrections. Follow through from there.

Then look through the Safety Preference for Warn when going faster than allowed. I think that's the process.........
