I need to say thanks to this forum before I start my questions. Learn a lot of tricks & tweak including the screen dump I am going to use in this case. Here is the question : I was going to a house on Ford Road which can be accessed by a left turn off the main road. However, my XL340TM routes me via a left turn on the second street and then a left turn back on Ford. This is a longer distance route and I checked the Map correction section and there is no restriction on the left turn from the main route. Is there something wrong with my route planning setup ?

Edited to show the two links in http://

Your link isn't working. Are you sure there isn't a (faulty) mapshare that blocks the turn at the approriate location?

Try removing all mapshares and do a demo of the route. See if it changes.

Also, was IQ routing on or off?

I am still new to posting the image in forum.. So bear with me. If you copy & paste the link (the second link), you will see the route map. I am using IQ route and there is no Mapshare correction (after I updated my map to v860, Mapshare is not working anyway in TomTomHome I was in the thought that the left turn from main road is blocked (or one way traffic added etc). So I went to map correction but found out no block and no one way traffic.. If you can take a look at the image, may be you can think of something for me.

Cheers

NB Just fixed the links in the original posting.

The first image seems to show the destination being on Mccracken. I don't see Ford Rd listed there at all

The second image will show Ford Road. To the left of the main Road is Ford and to the right is McCracken. WIll this be the problem ?

Maybe. I really don't know what to tell you. Give me the starting point and destination point and later today I'll try the route on my 540 with the 860 map.

(the specific street numbers can be changed for security if you wish as long as they are somewhat close to reality)

Here it is :

Starting point : 5985 Explorer Drive, Mississauga, Ontario

Ending point : 6155 Ford Road, Mississauga, Ontario

Thanks for looking into this. My old Garmin doesnot have this routing issue.

Well, the routing also appeared to match your image where it took the longer route. For some reason, it feels it still is faster.

Bad IQ mapping information, I guess.
