I have a Tomtom 630 and like the ease of mounting it as a usb drive on Windows to copy photos, music, etc.

I heard that due to some lawsuit, the recent Tomtom's cannot be accessed directly anymore. Is that true? What are the last models that can still be mounted as USB?

Thanks.

The current models (we call these Nav2 vs. the newer Nav3 units) that can be accessed as external drives (the way your 630 can) are the Start 40, 45, 50 and 55. All other of the newer units all show up (even though over a USB connection) as network devices.

Ah, and that would be fair warning to the OP. These 4X/5X units are, like all of the newer units, rather 'defeatured'. You won't find an MP3 player on any of them.
