I have just called our local Halfords (Scotland) and I was enquiring if they had any more GO LIVE 1000 devices

The lady said that these are now obsolete and they will no longer sock them

This brings me to the question

Is TomTom planning on the next generation devices soon to take the place of the 1000's?

thanks for any help

I have just reserved the 1000 from a store 38 miles away

What's the real difference between the 1000 V 1005

apart from the obvious size :)

I've never seen a Go1000 with an sd card slot.
Most Go1005's do have them, but the most recent batch do not.

Go1000's have 4GB memory, most Go1005's have 8GB.

I like how the 1000 has a capacitive touch screen and a vibrant display

I am returning my 820 Live and have purchased the 10000 instead

Finally made my mind up, I just hope in a months time TomTom release the successor to the 1000 and 1005 range.

The software on my 1000 will just be the same as of the 820 won't it?

There isn't anything that the 820 has like better chips (faster) etc

Having an card slot doesn't bother me, I have went for the UK and full europe edition :)

Ige.

Should be pretty much identical software-wise and hardware-wise.

There's a comparison spreadsheet here:
Tomom specs - European models although it has a couple of gaps for the Go820/825

Did the 825 have the Expedia/Twitter stuff on it?
