Way points Vs Stops

Hi

How do I get my rider 550 to differentiate between a waypoint, the white dot (done to manipulate the route) and a stop (a place I want to visit). If I sync as a track, then all the stops disappear but if I send stops to device then everything is treated as a stop.

Tomtom does not recognise the difference, waypoints are just waypoints there are no stops.

I have the same issue. Contrary to the above i can only have stops but not waypoints
