Tomtom Start2 and "Warn when near POI"

Hi - a bit of a noobie here so please forgive if the information I need is readily available - I did have a read around.

I downloaded a speed camera database for Europe which I managed to load onto my Start2. This successfully displays the cameras as POIs. The next part of the instruction was to go to manage POIs and set "Warn when near POI". I figured out that the reason I cannot do this (I think) is because this unit has Easymenu?

So i read the sticky at the top about how to get more menu options. I now have 2 questions:

Is this the only way to get an audible proximity warning on my Start2?

Does the script in that thread work ok for Start2? (There is mention of several models but not the Start2)
