Tom Tom on Crete

Planning to take my Go 620 with Europe map installed with me, initially to get us from the airport to our hotel, and later exploring the island by car.

Will my Tom Tom be ok at switch on, or will it need special set up. Any tips appreciated. Thanks

I think as long have you have the maps to cover the area you are going to you'll be good to go.

You may wish to wait a few minutes at the airport till the 620 picks up the gps signal from the satellites for the device.

I usually add the places I want to visit into My Places before I get there. Because the name we call the place / hotel / beach my not be what the local map calls it / how it spells it. Clear that hurdle now.
Sometimes if I am not sure the place TomTom finds is the place I mean, I put in the LAT/LONG of it, e.g. beach car park, rental return at airport. Enjoy.
