rider v1 and scala q2?

Hi, ive just bought a used rider v1 gps with tt headset, I already have cardo scala g2 headsets fitted to my helmets so was hoping to use these. After several attempts it keeps saying the scala g2 features are not supported so is it possible to upgrade the v1 software to a later version so i can keep using my scala's which im very happy with? or do i need to buy a newer model gps? if so which?.
