Hi

My device has develop a fault were the power cable doesn't seem to fit tightly anymore, therefore the device switches off constantly and I have to move the cable slightly to get the power back. I have purchased a new cable but it doesn't seem to have made any difference so it seems to be the device socket its self.

Does anyone know of a cure for this?

I should add that I have only had this model for just over a year.

Hi

If it's the mini socket on the GPS side there is no solution that you can do yourself.

If your GPS is less than 2 years old, it must still be under warranty, contact Tomtom customer service for repair support.

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
It's the socket on the magnetic device, but I have just realised I can just replace this, so have ordered one from Amazon as we are off touring shortly so in a hurry to fix it.
I must say I would have thought a more substantial plug and socket would have been a better design. But saying that my 6000 lasted for years with the same plug and socket but it was not in such a vunrable position.
