POIs n new maps

Hi, I bought my Tom Tom one in 2007 with Western Europe map, this year I bought a new map of Western Europe.
I am a golfer, and use the Tom to get to Golf course. The first map I bought takes me straight into the golf course car parks. The new map only takes me to the area the golf course is in, it has actually tried to take me past eh courses. Why is the nes map not as good as the old one. Can I update the POIs on my new map with the POIs from my old map?
Help this is so frustrating.

The golf course was not in a downloaded custom poi file but was part of the included poi.dat file?

If so, you can try this......

Back up your unit using Explorer, not home. Then, copy the poi.dat file from your backed up original map and place it in the folder of the new map using Explorer.

See if that works.
