Hi ti fellow Tom Tom uses.
I am retired and apart from the odd 100 plus miles on the pleasure trip in our glorious Yorkshire do not do a great deal of motoring.
I have just today updated to a XL IQ after using someother manufactures device for several years.
I can certainly say the technology has improved.
I have updated maps and system this afternoon and now looking forward to the first trip out.
Hope to speak to you guys for hints and tips and I maybe I can contribute in my own small way.

Welcome to TTF!

Make a complete Explorer, not Home, backup of your unit's contents. This is your 'safety net' just in case....

Sound advise indeed my friend and I can report all contents of my XL are backed up to my lap top. I may even go the next stage and copy to my external hard drive as well.
