New Tomtom user having problems!!!

Hi, I bought a new car 6 months ago and one thing I really wanted installed was a GPS. I paid $2500 australian dollars extra to have a Tomtom console installed in my new car. Previously I had a portable Garmin which I loved so was not going to be denied my wish. Problem is, I have issues with it. When I attempt to add a new destination, the address is grey and won't let me change the previous address which I entered. I cannot cancel the previous address. Can anyone please tell me where I'm going wrong? I've turned the manual inside out looking for instructions about this problem. Thanks

You do have the Aussie map installed, correct? What application is installed and what model TT was built into the console.

Is it possible to do a reset of the unit that you have?
