Map won't work

I just got a tom tom XL IQ Routes yesterday after having a tom tom One for over 3 years. I plugged it in to update the stuff on it. I backed up the files through HOME and then updated. Now the map won't work. It's saying that the map needs to be activated? But that was after I updated it. When I go to restore the tom tom HOME ends up showing an error (I'll have to do it again to tell you what the error is) so I can't restore it either. Can I delete the map on the tom tom and will the one on HOME be put back on it? I don't know how to fix this.
 
It's possible that your map didn't fit.

First backup everything per this link.

Then go to "Manage my XL" and remove the map and all the Computer Voices. Then try downloading/adding the map again. Then try re-adding computer voices (if you have a 340S).
