Location not found straight away

When i get in car and load app the little pointed doesn't know where I am and is grey, stays like this for some time before eventually turning blue and shows my gps position

If I go into settings in my phone and turn location settings to off and back on it instantly turns blue??

Google maps and waze are fine they find my location straight away?

I have got my app set to run in background

Any ideas? I am on my 7 day trial and if its going to be like this I won't be continuing subscription but I want to as love it
 
In the last weeks, TomTom GO has been very slow at the start. It takes some time to find what the user searched for, and when the user confirms and wants routing, there also comes a delay.
I talked with two friends and they have the same problem.

Maybe you need to uninstall the app and then reinstall it?

So guessing it's a bug and maybe an update for it soon?
 
I don't know if it's a bug for other countries in France, the application finds my position right away.

If you have given all permissions, there should be no problem.

Maybe the bug I mentioned isn't connected with your problem. In my case, the location is accurate as soon as usual.
The problem is waiting for destination/favorite list and (after selecting) for route calculation. The connection, phone speed etc. isn't involved.
 
@kacnje Just for testing purposes, open the app's menu > TomTom Services > Disable 'online Search' and 'online routing'. Try again and check how it works.
 
Hello, thanks for the nice suggestion. But yesterday my subscription to the TomTom GO ended and I can't try your suggestion.
Now I have only AmiGO, which doesn't have the mentioned feature.
My observation is that the problem exists only when using the app (GO or AmiGO) on Android Auto. It works fine on the phone when it isn't connected to the infotainment.

@beanage123 Delete the app's cache > Hold ur finger on the GO Nav. App icon > App info > Select 'Permissions'. Tap 'locations' and select 'allow all the time'. Go back to the previous screen > 'Battery usage', > Enable background. Check again.
