If you wish to reset all features and settings on your device, returning them to their factory defaults, or are asked to do so as a troubleshooting step for a device that is misbehaving, this video outlines the correct procedure:

If the firmware on your device becomes corrupted, and your device is inoperable as a result (will not boot, or continually reboots) it is possible to force it to load a functional version, and then update to the current version if necessary. This video explains this procedure:
