Hi,

I have something strange with TomTom Go for Android.
When I start the car TT is connected with Andoid auto.

The arrow stays gray for approx. 5 minutes (sometimes longer) before it gets a fix and the arrow turns blue.
When I switch to Google maps, it has a fix in a few seconds, switching back to TomTom it still has no fix.
The same when I switch to Flitsmeister, works fine, TomTom still has no fix.

When the arrow is gray it's also gray on the phone, assuming it has nothing to do with Android Auto.
Turning off android auto to stop automaticly connecting to the car's headunit, it still gray on the phone.
Restarting the phone doesn't solve it either.

TomTom: 3.6.128-beta (4456)
Android Auto: 9.2.631214-release
Phone: Oneplus 10 pro (Android 13 + security update March 5th, 2023)

Any fix for this?

Hi

Normally when the arrow remains gray it means that your phone is not picking up the position of the satellites.

Try to see outside your car if Tomtom GO picks up satellites.

outside the car I have the same issue, TomTom needs more then 5 minutes to find some sattelites and Google Maps and Flitsmeister are have sattelites within seconds.

Drove my kid to school this morning, took 7 minutes and still no GPS, Google Maps and Flitsmeister no issue.
Must be a TomTom issue I think

Is the battery fully charged in the TomTom unit?
Yes, fully charged, happens also when connected to the cable.
It makes no sence that Google Maps and Flitsmeister are working, TT is waiting for more then 5 minutes

Yes they are enabled, but can't imagine that it would interfere with getting the GPS sattelites.
Like I said, Google Maps and Flitsmeister works without any issues, only TT needs a long time.

There was an Android bug a couple months ago where disabling location services was a weird but successful workaround to losing signal. Bug has been fixed so you can re-enable locations settings if you previously disabled them.

I think TT fixed it because when I start the app it finds a GPS withing seconds.
