GPS not working - what else can i do?

Hi,
I'm trying to set up my tomtom start 25 sat nav after not using it for a long time and it cant find a signal.
I updated the quickGPSfix and left it for a couple hours in the end to let it figure things out but still no change. I've restarted and reset it and I'm in an open area with no obstructions that could interfere.
I went back on MyDrive connect this morning and its showing i have another update for the quickGPSfix, it said it updated successfully but it keeps showing that the update is available. I'm really stuck on what it could be and what i can do further.

By 'reset' you mean you have done a drum reset on the unit by holding the power button about 20 seconds till you hear the drum sounds?

As a total aside, I assume you're aware the lights are off at GPSReview. Great seeing you folks here at TomTomForums are alive and well. many of our brethren have been retired.

So they have, gator. I emailed Tim about the outage and he had no clue what was happening with the site. Good to see you here.
