I have a go730, each time I connect to TomTom Home I am never givin an option to download the latest gpsfix. The problem is that I have to now wait at time upto 3 - 5 mins for my GPS to aquire the signal.

Is there a way to get the Home applicatin to update the gpsfix on my GO 730.

I have downloaded the lastest home application, still no update.

Please help

Use Explorer to delete everything in the ephem folder on your unit.

Now, go here:
c:\documents and settings\yourname\my documents\TomTom\Home\Downloads\Complete\ephemeris\ and delete all sub-folders found there,

Connect to Home and you should get offered a new file.

Sometimes a downloaded gps file 'constipates' (how's that for a techy term :) ) the system and the gps location data can't be interpreted properly. It happens.

If, in the future, you aren't getting a regular dl of the file, you know hat to do.

That said, there are many who NEVER bother getting updated files and manage quite nicely; usually, they are the ones who use the unit on a regular basis.
