I restored my new TomTom 720 last night from scratch and everything is working except for the compass pointer. It no longer gives me the option for customizing the pointer. The menu item for the compass is not in the configuration menu. I'm sure there is a file or two that will re-enable this functionality but I don't know what I'm looking for. Does anyone know about this? Thanks.

Navcore 7's compass functionality was lost with application 8x of the firmware.

Version 8.3 brought some functionality back in that Preferences-->Status bar-->Show Direction will show an arrow on the status bar with the direction in degrees and in letters (NW, E, etc.).

But....the existing compass on the actual screen in Navcore 8 is a tiny thing JUST pointing north.

Thanks for the quick reply, I really appreciate it. The firmware version I'm using is 8.301. You're right about the pointer, just a tiny thing always pointing north. I was following tomtom's instructions for replacing the application and deleted everything but the map and the ASR folder. Home picked up the missing application and installed the latest application. When I powered it up and tried to return all my settings to where they were I noticed this problem. The compass pointer was working correctly before I did this. I do have a backup, but I'm afraid that it might be corrupted which is the reason I tried reloading everything from scratch. Thanks again for everything.
