Avoiding down town

I tow a trailer and prefer to use the bypasses, like 265 around a city rather than 65 through the center. Is there a way to program this option into a Tom Tom one XL?

Once you have plotted your route, you can go into...

menu>find alt>avoid part of route > then click on the road you want to avoid.

It will then re plot another route for you avoiding that one road, you can do this over and over to delete various roads.

If you wanted to scratch this back to the original route, simply menu>find alt>re calc original.

Also, if you ignore the downtown (or buisness) route and take the bypass, TT should recalcaulate to include that way within a few seconds. Just a suggestion.

That is what I'm going to do. I always look at a paper map for verification any way and there aren't that many cases on a daily basis. I hope the Google Maps includes routing in the near future.
