910 X during startup -No Joy

I searched and found nothing.

When I turn on the 910 the startup screen starts up, a white box with a red X appears in it and it shuts off. I put it to my ear and I can hear what sounds like the hard drive clattering in a repeating loop.

I've hit the reset button and I've held the reset button for 30 seconds, nothing fixes it.

It will NOT connect to the computer.

I'm on hold with TomTom tech service now and suspect I'll have to send this in.

Any other ideas or thoughts on this?

Doesn't sound good.
If you can't get your unit connect to your computer, then looks like you will have to send it in. Most time sending it in, they will give you a refurb unit.

If your unit was no longer under warranty and if you have a complete backup it would have been faster if you replaced the hard drive yourself, maybe even replacing it with a bigger capacity (if required) - just my 2 cents.

I had similar problem couple weeks back when i left it in the car for 8 hours under extreme cold weather. It wont turn on and i heard clicking sound. But it comes back on when it gets warm up.
