Every time we turn the 140S on the screen is not centered, restart the unit its OK. looking for ideas?? Thanks

It might be due to this

IT MIGHT BE DUE TO THIS?

"TomTom Home encouraged me to update to 9.022. I did so, but when I started my unit, I would get a corrupt display. The displayed image was shifted up and to the right. If I turned the unit off and then on again, the issue woud disappear. However, I had to go through the same off and on again routine after every "cold" start of the unit.

As this was unacceptable I reverted to the previsous firmware version and the issue disappeared. Unfortunatley, this also caused me to lose all of my favorites and settings.

Anyone else have any problems with 9.022?

If you overwrite the mapsettings.cfg file in your map folder on the unit with a backed up copy using Explorer, you may find your favourites restored.

I've seen other posts of this error and a similar downgrade to app 8.415 as a workaround.

Just curious, app 9.026 is out now and Tomtom doesn't yet say what it does or doesn't do.

Is your screen issue fixed in 9.026?

Had the same problem with my 140S, at about the same timeframe. After carefully following all the instructions given by TomTom support, the problem remained. TomTom gave me an RMA, and replaced the device.

(Unfortunately, the replacement has an older map than my defective device had, but it works, and I was able to transfer my other "customizations" [POIs, startup images, etc] with no difficulty)

Call up Tomtom, if it was a warranty replacement they should be able to look up your account and give you at least the map version you used to have on your new device.

same here

I am having same exact issue and just posted a thread. We even tried a full format of unit. I tried 9.026 and same issues. Now i am downgraded to 8.415 which makes the screen work ok but the satalite reception is horrible and the unit takes forever to track them. I am very frustrated. Using 140-s

I'm not aware of satellite reception problems with app 8.415.

There is a known issue where, if you switch applications, Tomtom will take a very long time for it's first satellite fix. After that initial satellite fix, it should be back to normal.

Also, make sure you have a current quickgpsfix file. In HOME, go to "manage my ONE" and remove all the quickgps fix files from your computer and from your device. Then go to "Update my ONE" and download quickgpsfix again.
