wondering if anybody has replaced usb cord on homedoc or added usb to window mount

the mount that came with my device for some reason is not connecting to computer ;-( so I took it apart last night (cause I have a new one coming soon in the mail) and I see where the usb is connected but just wondering if anybod out there has changed it and if work? also I have two window mounts and I was just wondering if anybody has added a usb to the window mount, it looks like it has the same connections on the outside, but I havn't torn that apart yet, also does anybody know on the home doc, what part the connector is for the usb? on the connection that accually connects to the TT, is it one of the prongs or what any help would be much appreciated thanks
