GO 740 LIVE
Hello

Total Newbie to TomTom , I'm more familiar with Garmin but have a Go 740 Live I'd like to use as a dedicated Truck gps/nav for the continental US and Canada if available. I drive tractor-trailer across the country and am looking for commercial routing, low bridge POI, etc. I assume I can add other POI data such as Cat scale and trucker stop locations later...?
Need to know appropriate navcore and truck map (9.61?), as well as guidance on installation.

I'd appreciate any assistance. It's worth my efforts to re-purpose this unit (it's in perfect condition) if it can be done rather than leave it unused. I have adapted Garmin units before so I'm a bit familiar with manipulating the unit software as needed.

If it isn't practical to convert the unit I'll look to sell it or trade it on this forum towards a Pro 8000 or some such practical model based on feedback I hope to gain on this forum.

Thanks!

Shame you feel that way dhn.
I was looking for TT related software to run on a TT product so I fail to see how that is inappropriate. If I was hacking the thing to run unauthorized software it'd be a disk deferent story.
My post stands.

If you feel dhn was out of order, please call TomTom Customer support and ask them for advice how to proceed.

You know where to find the firmware. The problem is that you'll also be needing the map to go with it, and those aren't free, and we don't condone pirating them here.
