TomTom GO Expert Plus 7 Inch bluetooth icon greyed out and unusable

Bluetooth icon greyed out on TomTom screen - cannot see "tomtom" on my phone's bluetooth so cannot link and get live traffic - it used to work but now doesn't.

Just an opinion:
Given all of the strange behavior connecting all things Bluetooth (mostly with Apple), I gave up and just set my phone up as a WiFi hotspot and I connect my various TomTom devices via WiFi instead of Bluetooth. Always stable, never any strange behavior.

Tried that, but didn't make any difference - its still greyed out and not seen on my phone.

What is the make of phone you are trying to connect?

iPhone 13 - but it won't connect to any phone as the bluetooth on the satnav is greyed out and not working.
