Newbie with a doubt

I am glad to be here and hope I get some friends with the heart and knowledge to let me know about the Tom Tom XXL I bought in the US and used here. I wish to know if I could use the same GPS in India or China.If so how can I use it.

TomTom has just introduced maps of India BUT I think you have to be there for such maps to be offered. Further, I'm not sure for what devices they will be offered for. There is also a China TomTom site so I presume there are maps for at least some of that country as well.

However, if you show your location on TomTom's site, you won't be offered maps for either country, as far as I can tell.

You can try calling CS at 866-486-6866 and see if they can offer any advice.
