Mount Quandary: Cup Holder or Dash

Considering two positions for my new 1505M WTE in my 2015 VW Golf: cup holder down by the gear shift or dash above the instrument cluster with one of those bean bag universal mounts. Any advice or experience?

How far down do you have to look if the device is in the cup holder? Do you lose sight of what's going on through the windshield?

Not much more than looking at the Radio/Stereo screen, I would think. Haven't bought the holder yet. The Source has one that fits into the cup holder.

May be pricier but worth every cent if you are thinking of 2+ years use.

Thanks Arno, I see it's a vent clip. Doesn't this block ventilation too much?

It did not on my Taurus.
I have no bought one for the Caravan or the Nissan Versa. The latter is tiny and may be affected by the clip.

Ask them to send you a quote with a dimensional sketch. Cut out e a piece of cardboard and see if it is bad.
